Future video growth projections from Silicon Valley conference

Here are a few fun facts from OTTCON – (Over the Top) show I attended in Santa Clara (Silicon Valley) this week:

From Travis Brown, Director at Accedo:  By 2015 there will be 650 million connected TV devices

From John Clancy, CEO, Azuki Systems:  Global mobile data and video traffic will increase by 1300% to 11 Exabytes per month by 2017

From Will Law, Principal Media Architect, Akamai:   The number of video devices will grow to 50 billion in 2020 (from ~8 billion last year). The number of IP video users will soon increase from 700 million (2.4 terabits per second daily), to 2.1 billion users, 1,296 terabits per second daily.
